Grünspitz 2022

“We don’t know how and when this variety came to our village. In Romania it only exists in Beltiug. The variety was nearly extinct. But Johann Brutler cut scions in 2006 from age-old vines in the vineyards of Grandpa Schmied (Father of Katharina Brutler) and replanted a vineyard from it in 2009 in one of the best locations of Beltiugs‘ vineyards. The name Grünspitz refers probably to its taste. The wines had always high acidity due to the very late ripening of the berries.”
